The Summit
A coalition of Canadian youth environmental groups, in partnership with the Government of Canada, is holding an international youth summit that will bring Canadian and International young people together to engage the next generation in working to fight climate change. The Summit will allow youth to share their experiences and learn from their peers. It will also produce a youth declaration that will be presented to the UN Conference on Climate Change. If you’ve got something to say about how we should be fighting climate change, we’d love to hear it. Visit our Declaration page to find out more on how you can submit your views.
From the Summit Team, 26 Canadian and international youth will participate in the two week long UN Conference on Climate Change as accredited observers. This group will disseminate the Youth Declaration from the Summit and generally promote youth involved in the climate negotiations. Our youth delegation, along with other youth present at the conference, will also produce a daily newsletter on the state of the negotiations and report on the youth activities of the day. We have reserved a section of the newsletter for views from youth not attending the conference. If you’ve got something to say on the state of climate negotiations, would like to highlight what you and other youth have been doing in your community or have some climate art you would like to share, submit a post in the Newsletter – Views from Beyond the Palais section of the discussion forum.
