The international climate change negotiations are coming to Montreal from November 28 to December 9, 2005. This is the first time these negotiations have been in North America since before the Framework Convention on Climate Change was signed in 1992.

The Montreal meeting is crucial as governments must show demonstrable progress in the implementation of the Protocol and initiate consideration of post-Kyoto commitments. Youth’s voice on these important issues needs to be heard and we need your help to do it!

Over 100 youth from around the world will meet in Montreal the weekend before the negotiations begin to develop the Youth Declaration. This Declaration will be presented to the official conference. However it is not just these 100 youth that get to decide on the Declaration - we would like to hear from you too! We are inviting youth from across Canada and around the world to input their views into the process. See our Declaration page to submit your views.

We are also looking for 10 000 drawings on the actions children are taking to stop climate change. We will insert one drawing into each welcome package that the anticipated 10 000 delegates to the conference will receive.
